I was checking out the way back machine and decided to grab some screenshots of all the different designs we had with PSXFanatics/EmuFanatics/EFx2 (as well as Emulation64 after the merge). A lot of these are missing images so you can't really see the original intended design but you can get an idea. From looking at all these I don't know what I was thinking changing the site so much. Guess I was bored of the old designs and inspired to make new ones.

Here is PSXFanatics' first site. I don't even remember what it looked liked with the images to be honest. I am sure it wasn't that great either way.

Then we had the PSXFanatics most people recognized back then. This was based off the design of phpbb (forum software) back then in 2001.

Then we ended PSXFanatics with this design .. no clue why I went with this. It is missing a lot of images so maybe it didn't look so bad .. but it's a terrible design. I created a skin system for the site. I can't remember what other designs I had for the skin system.

Next up will be EmuFanatics ...

Continuing on with EmuFanatics. Early 2003 we expanded our coverage from just PSX emulation to all general emulation. This was one of the first designs. At the time I still had the skin system and this was he default one. Still missing some images on The Wayback Machine but you can kind of get an idea. Not exactly my favorite and looking at it now it looks so dated. I am not sure what the other skins were at the time.

The next design we had ... well I don't know what I was thinking on this one. It is pretty terrible. Not much to say on this one.

Then there was this blue design that didn't last too long. It was also around this time we switched back and forth with EFx2 (which I will go over later). On the blue menu border it was rounded on the corners but doesn't show on here (if I remember correctly).

The next design we kept around for awhile. This is when we went back to EmuFanatics. There was this original one that showed the news post and the second one which was more towards easy access to new releases rather then the news. Looking at the second site .. that is a very busy looking page with all the menus and stuff.

Now we start down the redesign craziness. I was constantly redesigning the site which probably drove our community crazy. This was one of the first of many new designs.

This dark blue one is probably my favorite ones back then ..

Then there is this one. This is not the correct logo for it .. and most of the images are missing but I liked this one too. I kept some of the same elements going forward with EmuFanatics and later with Emulation64

And our final design that I also used for Emulation64 when we merged.

Bonus .. Emulation64. When we merged I took over our last design and changed it to red and put the news back on the main page. Then eventually updated it to a new look that was a little flat. Eventually I changed it to the final design that was on there for years and years until recently.

Another bonus. I loved this design for the Gamecube emulator Ninphin that I designed.

You can see it here on the Wayback Machine
